대룡산은 강원도 춘천시 동면과 동내면, 홍천군 화촌면에 접한 해발 899m의 산으로 봉우리는 화강암으로 깍아지른 듯 절벽을 이루어 장엄하다. 산록부는 대부분 낙엽송과 잣나무 인공조림지이다. 춘성군(춘천시) 동산면에 위치한 강원대학교 연습림과 북부지방산림관리청 홍천관리소의 잣나무 잠정채종림은 우리나라의 대표적인 잣나무 숲으로 유명하다.

(Mt. )Daeryongsan extends to the boundary of Dong-myeon and Dongnae-myeon, and Hwachon-myeon, Hongcheon-gun in the Kangwon-do and is 899m high above the sea level. The summit is a sheer granite cliff and poses the magnificent scenery. At the mid-slope area there are artificial plantations of mainly Japanese larch and Korean pine. The experimental forest of Kangwon-do National University located in Dangsan-myeon, Chunsung-gun, and the tentative Seed Forest of Korean pine managed by Hongchun Regional Office of Wonju National Forest Office are well known as the most representative Korean pine forest in Korea.
